Our Futures Trading is currently in pilot, bringing together providers, funders and trusted partners to build a simple, transparent and trusted opportunity network from the ground up — testing, learning and refining the model.
The idea didn't come from nowhere. It came from everywhere.
For more than two decades, Diane has worked in communications, humanitarian response, health and international development, including many years with the United Nations. Through that work, Diane has seen people face extraordinary challenges — but also seen what happens when people are given access rather than just assistance.
The need isn't a revelation — it's well understood, and there are countless organisations, businesses and individuals already working to meet it. What has been harder to solve is the distance between the opportunity and the person who needs it.
A course. A mentor. A coaching session. A swim programme. A music lesson. A volunteer opportunity. A trade skill learned while rebuilding. A safe space to process what happened. Small business training in a community starting over. A chance to learn, reconnect, recover or begin again.
Think of it as trading in the best sense of the word. That music tutor whose schedule has a gap. The surf school that runs half-empty in winter. The chef who could teach someone to cook — really cook. The farmer in New Zealand with a thriving operation, funding a season of agricultural training for a family starting their first crop in East Africa. The tech company that could offer a work experience placement to someone who just needs a foot in the door. A platform that makes it easy to offer, fund, find and claim.
