How it works

How opportunity moves.

A simple way to connect opportunities, funding and people.

  1. A Provider lists an opportunity

A Provider creates a listing for an experience, service, programme, lesson, mentoring opportunity, internship, volunteer role or other opportunity that could help someone build skills, confidence, wellbeing or connection. Every listing is reviewed before it goes live.

  2. A Funder chooses what to support

Funders browse opportunities and choose exactly where their support goes. You can fund an opportunity in full, contribute toward one alongside others, or support a theme — like learning, sport or wellbeing — and we'll allocate your contribution to eligible opportunities as they come through. Once an opportunity is fully funded, it moves to the next stage and you'll receive updates as it progresses.

  3. A Trusted Partner claims the opportunity

Trusted Partners are verified organisations, schools, services and community groups who work directly with people who could benefit. Once a funded opportunity is available, an approved Trusted Partner claims it for someone they support — Our Futures Trading does not choose who receives an opportunity. That decision always rests with the Trusted Partner. Some opportunities are offered and delivered by the Trusted Partner directly — these are called Trusted Partner-Managed opportunities.

  4. Delivery is arranged

Once a claim is confirmed, the Provider and Trusted Partner connect directly to arrange delivery. The Provider and Trusted Partner can then connect to arrange delivery. Details are not shown publicly. Each party can also leave a review of the other once delivery is complete.

  5. Delivery begins — first payment released

When both the Provider and Trusted Partner confirm delivery has started, the first payment is released to the Provider. Neither side can confirm delivery alone — both confirmations are required before the stage moves forward.

  6. Delivery is completed — final payment released

When delivery is complete, both parties confirm it independently. Once both confirmations are received, the final payment is released to the Provider. Funds are held securely until this point. Neither party can close the claim alone.

  7. Impact is recorded

The Trusted Partner adds a required impact note — a short, privacy-safe record of what the opportunity meant. Quotes, stories or photos can be added optionally, where consent exists. Funders can see the outcome in their dashboard once it has been reviewed.

Also on the platform

Not every listing needs funding.

Providers can also list opportunities that people can access directly. These may include classes, programmes, workshops, events, services, internships or volunteer opportunities.

Some listings will be funded through the platform. Others will simply help people discover opportunities available in their community.

Some approved organisations can manage opportunities themselves when they both deliver the opportunity and directly work with the people or communities receiving it. These Partner-Managed opportunities require prior approval and cannot be self-reviewed.
